by Five-Star Hydraulic Bow User Yelan was made available in Genshin Impact update 2.7. With a unique dice theme, Yelan’s abilities scale in HP. His kit, especially his shard, can improve your active player on the pitch. She is well suited to the role of hydro sub-DPS applicator and brings benefits to a group with different element types.
Like other new characters, she’s stuck behind the latest content. While three of the four Ascension Materials (Varunda Lazurite, Starconch, and Recruit’s Insignia) can be found as soon as you unlock Liyue, the final Runic Fang can only be found in The Chasm.

Varunada Lazurite
You can find a limited amount of Varunada Lazurite in souvenir shops. The following normal boss fights also drop “Hydro Shards”: Hydro Hypostasis, Rhodeia of Loch, and Primo Geovishap (if Hydro Infused). The weekly bosses that drop Varunada Lazurite are Stormterror, Azhdaha, and Childe.
Starconch
This material can be found on the beaches of Liyue. Guyun Stone Forest beaches have several, as well as Yaoguang Shoal. See Teyvat’s interactive map for a full log of conch locations.
Rookie Badge
Farm Fatui Agents for rookie badges. They are spread all over Teyvat, so you have a choice of areas for farming. Usually they will be in a group full of miscellaneous elements (Hydro, Pyro, Electro, and Geo), so it’s good not to rely on just one group of farming elements. (However, you can do whatever you want! With enough DPS, single-element games are fine.)
runic fang
Runic Fangs are dropped by The Chasm’s new weekly boss, the Ruin Serpent. It’s not a particularly difficult boss, but can be tedious to farm. The Serpent dives in and out of the ground, and it takes no damage while underground. There is also a unique mechanism that requires the use of Lumenstone adjuvant. Talent Books
Taishan Mountain drops Yelan Prosperity Books on Monday, Thursday and Sunday.
Golden scales
Azhdaha, Lord of the Vishaps, drops golden scales. Azhdaha is unlocked by completing Zhongli’s second story quest. Sayu and Kazuha also use Azhdaha’s abandoned materials for ascension.
insight crown
Crowns are rare in Genshin, so make sure you really want to use them on Yelan. The general rule of thumb is to top off your main DPS units, so if you’re not sure yet where Yelan fits in your team, I’d suggest waiting. If you want to crown Yelan, Crown of Insights can be obtained by upgrading the Frost Tree and Sacred Sakura’s Favor. Otherwise, you will have to participate in limited-time events to obtain crowns.
