The Nintendo Switch eShop reveals the file size of Mario Strikers: Battle League. The new game weighs around 1.8 GB. In comparison, previous Mario sports titles such as Mario The Aces of Tennis and Mario Golf: Super Rush launched with file sizes of 2GB and 4.2GB respectively. Considering the Nintendo Switch internal storage size of 32GB, Mario Strikers: Battle League takes up little storage space.

The file size of Mario Strikers: Battle League will increase as future updates add new content and features to the game. New updates may also include the addition of new locations and modes. Datamines suggest 10 new Mario Strikers: Battle League DLC characters will be added for free during its post-launch support. Nintendo didn’t share any specific details other than post-launch DLC release plans.

A small file size for Mario Strikers: Battle League ensures that players use a minimum amount of internal storage to play Nintendo’s latest game. While traveling, the small file sizes allow gamers to take multiple Nintendo Switch digital games on the go hassle-free. Nintendo is known for optimizing its proprietary games and using as little file space as possible without compromising quality.

However, such a small file size may indicate a lack of content. In the past, many have criticized Nintendo for the lack of character selection and content in the Mario The Aces of Tennis and Mario Golf: Super Rush titles for Nintendo Switch. Updates will happily add new characters and content in Mario Strikers: Battle League free soon. As Nintendo has learned with many Nintendo Switch games, post-launch support is an important factor in maintaining an active player base.

Mario Strikers: Battle League will launch on June 10 on Nintendo Switch.
